Julita Siegel

Old Catalog, 2005, black and white silver print, 20”x16”

Julita Siegel came to Chicago after graduating from the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznan, Poland, with a master’s degree in Art History. She works at The Polish Museum of America cataloging and digitizing documentary photographs in the museum’s collection. This suits Julita perfectly as it combines her love for photography and art with an interest and respect for the past, as well as Polish culture and heritage. Julita’s photographic works appear in many publications, among them American Photo Magazine, Photographer’s Forum Best of College Photography and Polish Chicago. Our History. Our Recipes book. She enjoys graphic design projects and her biggest achievement in this field to date is the Grand Prix in the Ex Libris international competition organized by the Semper Polonia Foundation in Warsaw, Poland.
Julita continues her education in photography and graphic design. She freelances as a professional photographer, often as a team with her husband Bart.
