People often talk about reality as if it possessed the complete truth “You will have to face reality”. What is reality? What is a dream? Are dreams the state of mind characterized by abstraction and release from reality?

It seems to me that there is no reality, we as mankind have created a dream in which we live in. What other creatures on earth create their own landscape to call reality. As I look at the world around me with its absurdity, beauty and fantasy, I know I am in a collective dream of what has been imagined

One definition of imagination is the formation of a mental image of something that is not perceived as real and is not present to the senses. But life as we know it comes from the imagination of others who dared to see something beyond what exists, so it only makes sense that we live in a world imagined by those that have gone before, and it will be altered by those that come after.

In my work I discover that the line between reality and dream are often blurred. In this “reality” I encounter characters that are as varied as the imagination is endless. I use a plastic camera (Holga) to capture the absurdity and beauty of this fantastic dream. With its soft focus a feeling of elusive dream forms. I further emphasize this “feeling” through sepia and gold toning.
